Independence
No sponsored posts, no vendor allegiances, no affiliate pressure shaping conclusions. If we recommend something, it is because we would run it.
Independent, self-hosted, and written by people who run the things they write about.
Neutrons are the particles that hold matter together — invisible, unglamorous, and doing all of the structural work. That is the part of the tech industry we write about.
neutrons.io is an independent publication covering technology at every scale: hyperscaler strategy, AI infrastructure, enterprise storage, and the home lab humming away in your closet. The connecting thread is the layer underneath — the systems, economics, and engineering decisions that everything else stands on.
We practice what we cover. This site runs on a single machine we administer ourselves: our own web server, our own database, our own certificate authority, no cloud services anywhere in the stack. When we write about self-hosting, storage, or what infrastructure really costs, it comes from operating it — not from a press release.
No sponsored posts, no vendor allegiances, no affiliate pressure shaping conclusions. If we recommend something, it is because we would run it.
We build and operate the technology we cover. Claims get tested on real hardware before they get published.
The industry drowns good ideas in jargon. Our job is explaining things well — at whatever scale you happen to work.
